Bee festival

This year, the kick-off is at the Botanic Garden. The bee festival promises to be another fun family day in the theme of our winged friends.

On Sunday 26 May kicks off the fun summer treasure hunt 'Treasures of Fly'. This fun scavenger hunt will lead you that day past cool mini workshops, informative stands about bees, and ... you might even meet ‘Spike & Suzy’!

Bee Week runs from 26 May to 2 June. Godfather en godmother Dominique Persoone and Britt van Marsenille remain the campaign's enthusiastic ambassadors. With heart and soul, they once again commit themselves to bringing attention to the habitat of bees and other pollinators.

This year, we focus not only on bees, but on all pollinators. In addition to bees and bumblebees, day and night butterflies, hoverflies, beetles and a host of other insects ensure the pollination of plants. This is not only important for our food supply, but also for maintaining biodiversity.

Join in and, as a true bee hero, choose a garden where all pollinators are welcome.
