Do I need to book in advance?
We recommend that you reserve your ticket in advance. If there are still tickets available, you can also buy your ticket on the spot. Friends of the Botanic Garden and holders of a Museum Pass or other discount cards do not need to book in advance.
How does the time slot work?
The time slot you have indicated has nothing to do with the duration of your visit. You must arrive within the time slot but you may stay as long as you like, until the park closes. In this way, we want to ensure a maximum spread of visitors.
Are the greenhouses and the Castle open?
The greenhouses are open every day from 10.00 am until 30 minutes before closing. The castle is also open. You can check the opening hours of the Botanic Garden here.
How much time should I allow for a visit?
We recommend that you allow at least half a day for your visit. If you come for a whole day, you can discover even more of the Botanic Garden.
Will I be able to eat something in the Botanic Garden?
You can visit restaurant the Orangery or KAWA coffee bar. Be sure to check the opening hours.
Tickets
I have not yet received a teacher's card or other discount card. Can I still book a ticket with a discount?
No, you must have the card with you.
Can I change my ticket or have it refunded?
Exchanging or refunding tickets is not possible (except for valid reasons such as a medical certificate, etc.).
Do I need to book in advance?

I have a voucher for a free ticket. Do I need to book?
No, you do not need to book in advance.
I have a Friends card and a Grandchildren card. Do I need to make reservations for my grandchildren?
No, you do not have to make reservations for them.
I am coming with a child younger than 6 years. Do I need to make a reservation for him/her?
Yes, when ordering your tickets online you can also order tickets for children up to the age of 6.
I did not receive my tickets?
After your order, you will automatically receive a confirmation email with the e-tickets attached. If this is not the case, be sure to check your spam or junk mail. If you have created an account on our website, you will always find your e-tickets in your account (via my profile/history and overviews). If that does not work, please contact us at info@plantentuinmeise.be.

Practical info
Can I have a picnic?
Yes, you can have a picnic in the grass, at the picnic tables in the Culinary Garden.
Where can I park?
Parking spaces are available at the entrance to the Botanic Garden, along the Nieuwelaan. At busy times these are quickly taken.
Do I have to pay for parking?
The parking spaces along the Nieuwelaan are open and free to everyone.
Can I rent a transport cart?
Yes, transport carts are available.
Can I rent a wheelchair?
Wheelchairs are available at the entrance and can be rented free of charge.
Are there any storage lockers available?
There are no lockers available.
Is there a bicycle shed?
A bicycle shed is available at the entrance to the Botanic Garden.
Can I photograph and film in the Botanic Garden?
Photographing and filming is allowed in the Garden for private persons. For commercial recordings permission is needed. For more information click here.
I have lost something, how can I get it back?
Please report this to a staff member of the Botanic Garden or contact us at info@plantentuinmeise.be.
Is the Botanic Garden wheelchair accessible?
Yes, the whole estate is accessible for wheelchairs. For more information, click here.
Can I warm up a baby bottle and change my baby?
You can warm up a baby's milk bottle in the Orangery. There are changing mats in the toilets.
Can my child bring their scooter, bicycle, or ball?
No, unfortunately not as sports are not allowed in the Botanic Garden. Everything on wheels - except wheelchairs, prams and training bikes with training wheels for toddlers - must be parked at the entrance. For more info you can see the visitor's regulations.
What activities are there for children?
The King Amaryllo quest is available to go on a treasure hunt with your children! The barefoot path is also available for children. Check our calendar for all activities.
Can we pick plants in the estate or greenhouses?
You are visiting a botanic garden; picking plants is strictly forbidden. For further info see the visitor’s regulations.
Is it possible to spend the night in the Botanic Garden?
It is not possible to stay overnight.
Do I need to make reservations for activities in the Botanic Garden?
Most activities are open to all visitors to the Botanic Garden. Other temporary activities require a reservation. Check our calendar.
Groups
How much does a group visit cost?
That depends on the chosen package and the size of the group. Check our offers for groups for more info.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
No, the invoice is paid at the cash desk.
Is there a maximum number of people per group?
There is a maximum of 25 people per guide. See our guided tours.
What are the cancellation conditions?
These are indicated in the pricegroup offers.
What if there are absentees who cannot come along on the day of the visit? Do we still have to pay for them?

Do I have to book a group visit?
Book every group visit (from 15 people). That way, you will not encounter any surprises and you can avoid crowds. The capacity of our restaurant and the number of guides are limited.
