Family of Trees
Dahlgren Arboretum
In the vast Dahlgren Arboretum, located between the castle and the Balat Greenhouse, you will find a systematic collection of woody flowering plants; trees and shrubs from all families!
The ground plan of this arboretum is based on the 1980 classification of Swedish botanist Rolf Dahlgren. While you will certainly recognise the birch, maple, and willow families, you might also find plants you didn’t even know existed! In the Dahlgren Arboretum, we have chosen to plant mainly botanical species; those that occur in the wild. Enjoy the blossom in spring, the shade in summer, the beautiful fruit and autumn colouring in autumn, and the magnificent bark and branches in winter.
