Ikebana, sogetsu ikebana to give it its full name, is a floral art that has been practiced for many centuries, mainly in Japan. A connection with nature and the inner experience of the seasons are central. Ikebana is based on ancient principles, but at the same time this unique artform is always evolving.

Every year, artists from the Belgian sogetsu ikebana school showcase their beautiful creations in the Botanic Garden.
