This workshop is in Dutch

Ohara Chapter Belgium organizes this workshop entirely dedicated to the ancient Japanese flower art Ikebana. It is deeply rooted in Eastern tradition. Everyone with minimal knowledge of Ikebana is welcome!

Practical

  • All plant/flower material will be provided.
  • First you will be given information about the arrangement to be made, then everyone will get to work themselves.  

Material to bring your own

  •  a round ikebana dish (( +/- ) 30 cm with flat bottom and raised rim
  • 1 or 2 kenzans ( 1 large or 1 large and 1 smaller )
  • flower scissors
  • table protection (plastic or mat)  

Price

  • Entrance garden - guided tour - sandwich lunch - workshop (incl. flowers/plant material) : € 50 

Programme   

  • 9.45 a.m. : Meet at the main entrance (Entrance Empress Charlotte, Nieuwelaan 38, Meise)
  • 10 a.m. -12 a.m.: Start of guided tour ‘Fragrance - and colour Garden’  
  • 12 a.m.-1 p.m.: Sandwich lunch
  • 1.30 p.m. -3.30 p.m.: Ikebana workshop in the recently and beautifully restored ‘Vlaamse Hoeve’, near the main entrance .
